Cosmetic (aesthetic) surgery is a type of plastic surgery used to reshape facial or body features for improved appearance. Most cosmetic surgery at Parkland Medical Center can be performed on an outpatient, same–day basis.

Considering Plastic Surgery?
To help you decide if plastic surgery is right for you, talk with one of our nurse specialists about treatment options. When you’re ready to proceed, you’ll meet with a plastic surgeon to receive more in–depth information about your surgery and recovery.
After surgery, we schedule a follow–up appointment with your primary care physician who will help your recovery stay on track. You’ll also learn about medications you may need. In addition, a professional technician will teach you how to use cosmetics to assist in concealing incisions, discoloration or swelling.
Payment for Plastic Surgery
Reconstructive surgical procedures may be covered by major insurers and HMOs. Payment for consultations is due at the time of your visit. Payment for cosmetic procedures is due before the day of surgery unless other arrangements have been made.
Recovery & Rehabilitation
Support for your recovery begins before surgery when our expert anesthesia providers visit with you and your surgeon about the best approach to sedation during your procedure. To more quickly regain function following surgery, you may benefit from our extensive outpatient rehabilitation services.
