Derry NH December 15, 2011 - Residents living in Salem, NH and surrounding communities will soon have access to expanded medical services when Parkland Medical Center, an acute care hospital in Derry NH, opens a new Outpatient Medical Center in late 2012. Parkland officials announced today that they have leased space in a 50,000 square foot medical office building under construction by Park Place Realty Trust at 31 Stiles Road in Salem, NH. The new Outpatient Center will provide Greater Salem with its first comprehensive Urgent Care Center, an Oncology and Hematology Center in affiliation with The Lahey Clinic of Burlington, MA, ancillary testing services and medical office space.

According to CEO Tina Legere, the move to expand in Salem is a natural progression for Parkland Medical Center given the long term growth and success of the hospital, its affiliated physicians, and Salem Surgery Center, which is located across the street from the new site at 32 Stiles Road. "Parkland Medical Center has been serving Salem residents for many years. The convenience of one-stop-shopping for outpatient and urgent care services will eliminate the need for them to travel outside their community for care. Our new Outpatient Center improves our ability to provide more convenient and affordable, high-quality care," said Legere.

Legere also said the town will benefit from the successful clinical affiliation that Parkland established with The Lahey Clinic in 2008. "We're particularly pleased that this new location, in one of the state's premier medical parks, will provide us with the opportunity to open a second location for The Lahey Center for Oncology and Hematology at Parkland Medical Center, making access to these services so much easier for our patients and their families".
