DERRY, NH – The Parkland Center for Wound Healing & Hyperbaric Medicine at Parkland Medical Center has been recognized with the President’s Circle Award by Healogics, the nation’s largest provider of advanced wound care services. This is the most prestigious honor for wound care centers in the country that achieve clinical and operational excellence.
"Of all our awards received over the last 11 years, this is the most notable recognition,” said Peter Sebeny, MD, medical director of the Parkland Center for Wound Healing & Hyperbaric Medicine. “Our clinic performed in the top 5% of more than 600 Healogics wound care centers nationwide for excellence in patient satisfaction, operations, and clinical outcomes. We are proud of our multidisciplinary team approach to wound care, and our dedication to providing patients with the best experience by delivering care with a patient-centered focus.”
Since opening in April 2012, the Parkland Center for Wound Healing & Hyperbaric Medicine has provided specialized care to more than 3,500 patients with 7,800 non-healing wounds. The advanced treatments available at the center include hyperbaric oxygen therapy, negative pressure wound therapy, bio-engineered skin substitutes, biological and biosynthetic dressings, and growth factor therapies.
Another advanced therapy offered by the center is hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Hyperbaric oxygen medicine may be used to treat wounds related to more than one dozen conditions including diabetic foot ulcers, radiation injuries to tissue and bone, necrotizing infections, compromised skin grafts and skin flaps, and some types of arterial insufficiency and ischemia.
