At Parkland Medical Center, our goal is to help women lead healthy lives with a focus on wellness and preventive care. Our Women’s Health Network of services gives you all the tools you need to take charge of your health, whether you’re a young adult, busy mom or mature woman at the threshold of a new stage in life.

Health & Wellness for Life

Complementing our traditional women’s services at Parkland—gynecology, obstetrics, urology and urogynecology—we help you access a wide range of wellness and support services to promote healthy living throughout your lifespan.

Health Screenings and Vaccines

Stay healthy by keeping up to date on routine screenings and vaccinations as recommended by your primary care provider and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. At Parkland, you have access to the screenings and other preventive tools you need at every age.

Healthy bones support your body for a lifetime. Talk with your primary care physician about when to have a bone density screening to help prevent osteoporosis.

Tips for Bone Health

  • Get your recommended daily amounts of calcium and vitamin D.
  • Get regular weight-bearing exercise.
  • Avoid smoking and excessive alcohol consumption.
  • Talk to your doctor about bone health and take medication when prescribed.
  • Have a bone density test to determine your risk for osteoporosis.

Choose Parkland’s services for comprehensive breast care, including the latest in mammography, such as 3-D tomosynthesis, breast ultrasound and MRI, minimally-invasive biopsies, comprehensive treatments for breast cancer and benign breast conditions and genetic risk assessment. Should your mammogram indicate the need for further testing or treatment, our breast health nurse navigator will walk you through every step of the process.

Health happens one bite at a time. The registered dietitians at Parkland are expert counselors on a wide range of nutrition issues, who also tailor nutrition plans specifically for your health needs, including:

You’ll want to choose a provider you can trust and with whom you feel comfortable asking any question. We can help you find a primary care provider who’s right for you or your entire family.
