Nutrition Specialized Educational Program

Balance and Control for Weight Loss Management

If you have already tried all the fad diets, the meal plans and other commercial diet programs, and still do not have control over your weight, maybe this is for you! We provide a logical health oriented approach to weight management.

Balance and Control is a hospital based weight loss program, developed by registered dietitians – your nutrition experts. The program is based on the concept that –

Eating a variety of healthy foods in
Suitable portions combined with
Regular physical activity...

are the keys to attaining and maintaining a healthier weight.

Topics presented include:

  • Label Reading
  • Changing favorite recipes into lower fat, lower calorie foods
  • Social eating – strategies for dining out
  • Benefits of exercise
  • Eating to lower cholesterol
  • Emotional eating and compulsive overeating
  • Dietary supplements
  • Supermarket smarts

The group meets each week foreight weeks. During each session, body weight is measured, food records are discussed and an educational program is presented by a registered dietitian.
