Support and Education for You and Your Family
It’s comforting to share experiences with someone who has been through the same challenges. The Lahey Center for Oncology and Hematology at Parkland Medical Center has developed educational and support programs for you, your family members and caregivers:
- Look Good… Feel Better – Makeup and hair techniques. Sponsored by the American Cancer Society.
- I Can Cope – A full-day program addressing issues related to coping with a new cancer diagnosis; offered to patients, family members, and caregivers. Sponsored by the American Cancer Society.
- Children’s Bereavement Group – For children ages six to 11 years old who are grieving the loss of a parent or grandparent, or who have a loved one facing a life-threatening illness.
- Healing Arts Workshops – Designed to help patients, survivors and caregivers process the cancer experience through the healing power of the arts.
- Individualized Social Work Services – Personal services include financial assistance, helping caregivers manage their stress, and community referrals.
- Resource Library – Patient and family information resources.
- Yoga – Certified yoga instructor addresses cancer surgery and treatment issues.
