February 03, 2014

Derry, New Hampshire - January 31, 2014 – Parkland Medical Center today announced that it has been rated 5-Stars and recognized for clinical excellence in coronary interventional procedures, according to Healthgrades®, a leading and trusted, independent source of physician information and hospital quality outcomes that objectively evaluates the performance of virtually every hospital in the United States.

Parkland is the only hospital in New Hampshire to receive recognition from Healthgrades in this specialty in 2014.

A 5-star rating indicates that Parkland Medical Center’s clinical outcomes are better than expected when performing interventional procedures, such as cardiac catheterization and angioplasty to unblock clogged arteries.

Parkland Medical Center not only performs at a 5‐star level – it outperforms other hospitals in the nation in performance of coronary interventional procedures, and as a result has been recognized with the 2014 Healthgrades® Specialty Excellence Award in Coronary Intervention.

“We have an outstanding team that consistently delivers exceptional care,” said Chris Accashian, Parkland Medical Center’s CEO. “This achievement reflects the high standards and commitment to excellence that our staff delivers to patients every day. We are proud to be honored as one of the best; this achievement demonstrates that those who live in the Greater Derry area can get nationally recognized high-quality care close to home.”

Parkland Medical Center is also rated 5-Stars for treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), according to Healthgrades® 2014.
