Derry, New Hampshire - Parkland Medical Center was recently recognized by The Joint Commission as a Top Performer on Key Quality Measures® during 2013 for achieving excellence in performance on accountability measures for Heart Attack, Heart Failure, Pneumonia and Surgical Care.

Only 37% of hospitals nationally achieve this distinction. Parkland is one of seven hospitals in New Hampshire to be recognized as a Top Performer and one of only four acute care hospitals in the state to be recognized for these four measures.

“This is another significant reflection of the safe, effective, high-quality, service oriented culture we are all striving to build upon with each patient interaction,” said Christopher Accashian, CEO, Parkland Medical Center. “I am proud to be among a team of dedicated professionals committed to excellence in every way.”

The Joint Commission is the leading accreditor of healthcare organizations in America. The Top Performers program recognizes hospitals that attain excellence on accountability measures, related to evidence based care for certain conditions. Inclusion on the list is based on an aggregation of accountability measure data reported to The Joint Commission during the previous calendar year.

Parkland Medical Center and sister hospital on the seacoast, Portsmouth Regional Hospital are part of Hospital Corporation of America (HCA). Both hospitals are included among The Joint Commission’s new list of Top Performers on Key Quality Measures® released November 13, 2014.
